On March 24, the MoKu team conducted a field visit to Hall 7.2 of the 38th China International Hardware Expo. As the core exhibition area for the abrasives industry, Hall 7.2 brought together over 200 companies showcasing a full range of products, including raw materials, bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, superhard abrasives, and auxiliary materials. During the exhibition, the MoKu team actively visited and interviewed a number of participating companies to gain insights into their latest product offerings and market strategies.

Zhuhai Sawa Technology Co., Ltd.

Sawa Technology inherits the superior quality of “White Dove” and carries forward the technical expertise of “Second Abrasives.” Backed by its 40,000 square meter intelligent manufacturing base in Zhuhai Fushan Industrial Park, the company presented six professional product series at the expo, covering applications in shipbuilding, nuclear power & offshore oil, casting, stainless steel polishing, Western standard grinding wheels, and wind power equipment.

Their innovative product lineup includes fiber-reinforced resin grinding wheels, ultra-thin cutting wheels, depressed center wheels, and flexible grinding wheels. Supported by intelligent manufacturing and strict quality control, Sawa has established a reputation for safe and efficient products, which are exported globally.

Guangdong Shengyan Technology Co., Ltd.

Shengyan Technology highlighted several new products for precision processing at this year’s exhibition, including centerless polishing wheels, cylindrical grinding wheels, and surface grinding wheels. According to the company’s technical staff, these products feature innovative material technologies offering benefits such as burn-free grinding, zero scratches, high elasticity, and excellent breathability. They perform exceptionally well in applications such as precision shaft grinding, hardware jewelry polishing, and special steel treatment.

Notably, the company has developed PSA grinding wheels tailored for the semiconductor industry, which have been proven by customers to significantly improve pin grinding efficiency. These new products integrate both polishing and grinding functions and can be customized to meet clients’ specific needs. Additionally, their low dressing frequency further enhances overall efficiency.

Langfang Shengsen Abrasives Co., Ltd.

According to Manager Qin Weijia of Shengsen Abrasives, the company focused on several grinding wheel products at this exhibition, including wheels designed for casting and stainless steel applications. The company’s product portfolio also includes cutting discs, grinding discs, sanding belts, and flap discs.

Of note is Shengsen’s ongoing global expansion strategy: its factory in Thailand is expected to begin trial production in June, while a new domestic facility is scheduled to commence full operations in May. For talent development, Shengsen has adopted a mentorship system where experienced employees train newcomers, ensuring quality stability during production expansion.

Putian Yili Grinding Wheel Co., Ltd.

From its humble beginnings with a 0.9-square-meter booth to a customized exhibition stand ten years later, Yili Grinding has undergone a remarkable transformation from “small but refined” to industry recognition. Its product line has grown from a single item to a diversified portfolio, with both technical strength and brand image becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Faced with fierce market competition, General Manager Lin Lina demonstrated a clear and pragmatic outlook. She emphasized that price wars are a common challenge in today’s manufacturing industry. During conversations, she repeatedly highlighted the company’s firm stance: when some overseas clients requested price reductions citing tariff issues, Yili firmly refused to absorb the cost pressures.

Instead, the company insists on maintaining a reasonable profit margin to continue investing in R&D and innovation. With confidence in product quality that can withstand market scrutiny, they’re unafraid to say “no” to irrational price cuts.

In light of industry overcapacity and severe product homogenization, Ms. Lin believes that “Made in China” lacks no quantity—but it lacks the top 5% of refined detail. Yili focuses its competitive edge on product development, technical breakthroughs, and refined management. At the same time, the company proactively controls its capacity within a rational range, accelerating along a “quality over quantity” growth trajectory.

In addition, Yili is embarking on a new round of strategic planning: expanding product categories, selecting high-quality customers, and accelerating its global expansion—striving to forge a distinctive path against the tide of industry homogenization.
