1. On February 15, the 17th Shanghai International Auto Parts, Maintenance, Inspection, and Diagnosis Equipment and Service Products Exhibition - Shenzhen Special Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Auto Parts Exhibition - Shenzhen Special Exhibition”) grandly opened at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Baoan New Pavilion). This was the first large-scale international commercial exhibition in Shenzhen in 2023, and the staff from Abrasivestocks reported live from the exhibition.
This exhibition covers an area of 220,000 square meters and welcomed 3,302 exhibitors from home and abroad, providing a professional platform for face-to-face business matchmaking and gathering global quality trade forces to promote the vigorous development of the automotive industry.
The theme of the exhibition is "Technology • Innovation • Trends," aimed at deeply consolidating various resources and comprehensively showcasing the direction of development driven by technological innovation in the automotive industry. Attendees could see new and established leading brands from 19 countries and regions, including ABT, Aodabakes, Batulu, Chao Li, Chuhang Technology, Dali, Continental, Total Energy, Daotong, and Festo Tools.
In discussions with enterprises, it was found that exhibitors were highly enthusiastic, partly due to the large number of attendees. Many visitors were seen consulting at various booths, with a noticeable increase in foreign exhibitors as well. The economic recovery also reflects the eagerness and urgent demand for businesses to return to normal operations.
The production of auto parts relies on grinding consumables, and we also saw some grinding tool companies at the exhibition, such as Siren, Dongsheng Sandpaper, Taiyu Grinding, Xiangding Abrasives, and Shengweike.
Throughout the entire process of automotive production and subsequent maintenance, it is not hard to find the presence of grinding tools, such as bonded tools like cutting discs and grinding discs; coated abrasives like sandpaper and sanding belts; and finishing materials like grinding pastes and polishing waxes.
In specific processes, for instance, diamond (or CBN) welding grinding bars are used in the production of piston cylinders; diamond grinding wheels, drill bits, and saw blades are used in processing brake pads; diamond (or CBN) tools are utilized for various bearings; and grinding machines are indispensable in metal grinding processes. Additionally, polishing waxes and cleaning liquids are essential in the polishing and cleaning of automotive parts.
With the advancement of technology and the change of new materials, automotive manufacturing processes will become more precise. The mass production of new energy vehicles will also present more new requirements for the abrasive and grinding tool industry, such as grinding efficiency, high-hardness part processing, and the precision level after grinding. This requires grinding tool companies to keep pace with the development of the automotive industry and continuously innovate.
