From May 10 to 12, 2024, the China (Xi'an) International Hardware & Electromechanical Expo was held at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center. Abrasivestocks participated in this exhibition and engaged in discussions with industry colleagues on-site.

Shanghai Chaoguang Abrasives Co., Ltd., as a well-known company in the coated abrasives industry, has achieved remarkable results in the abrasives market by leveraging its advantages in design, research and development, production, and sales. The company focuses on producing various types of coated abrasives, such as non-woven abrasive flap wheels with shanks, flap wheels with handles, wire wheels, and more, to meet the needs of different industries and customers.
In an interview with Abrasivestocks, General Manager Wang Hui mentioned that although the performance in the first quarter met the expected target, the profit margin had slightly decreased. He analyzed that the proportion of OEM business for foreign clients had decreased compared to previous years, which somewhat impacted the company's profit levels. However, Chaoguang Abrasives has not slowed its development pace and is actively seeking new growth points, starting to focus on building its own brand.
Wang emphasized that quality is the cornerstone of a company's development. Chaoguang Abrasives works closely with high-quality raw material suppliers and strives to further specialize its products to meet the personalized needs of different customers. Additionally, the company actively communicates and collaborates with upstream and downstream enterprises to ensure smooth production processes and stable product quality.
In terms of market layout, Chaoguang Abrasives has adopted a strategy of setting up warehouses in multiple locations to facilitate distributor purchases. This measure not only improves logistics efficiency but also resolves the issue of customers not wanting to stockpile inventory.
When discussing future development directions, Wang stated that Chaoguang Abrasives will continue to adhere to the principle of quality first, continuously developing new products and expanding new markets to enhance competitiveness.
During the exchange, Bai Ning also introduced the Australian Hardware Tools Grinding Exhibition hosted by Abrasivestocks to Wang. He expressed that Chaoguang is also actively seeking opportunities to expand into overseas markets. Both parties discussed trends and strategies for expanding into foreign markets.
Zhuhai Great White Shark Abrasives Co., Ltd.
At the exhibition, in a conversation with Sales Manager Fu Qiang from Great White Shark, he mentioned that the company's participation in the Xi'an Hardware Expo was aimed at further consolidating and expanding its market share in the northwest region. Despite the global economy showing some signs of fatigue and both domestic and international markets facing certain pressures, Great White Shark continues to move forward steadily and resolutely.
Fu frankly admitted that while the company's performance grew last year, it faced significant pressure in the first quarter of this year, posing challenges to the company’s operations. However, with its solid foundation in the domestic market and the support of high-quality products, the company has successfully responded to some of these challenges.
When discussing market layout, Fu stated that Great White Shark is currently focusing on the domestic market. As for overseas markets, the company has focused on Singapore and Vietnam, although its foreign market share is currently small. However, the company has a clear strategic plan and will gradually increase its efforts to expand the overseas market in the future, seeking broader development space and opportunities.
To keep pace with the market and meet increasingly diverse customer demands, Great White Shark has constantly introduced new products, upgrading and replacing products like large discs, small discs, and grinding discs. These new products not only significantly enhance the company’s competitive edge in the market but also provide more diverse and flexible choices for distributors and consumers.
Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Fu believes that market competition will become even fiercer. However, he is full of confidence in the company’s development prospects, stating that the company will continue to increase its research and development efforts, launch more high-quality products to meet market and customer demands, and strengthen cooperation with distributors to jointly face market challenges and achieve win-win development.
